Can I make curtains out of quilting fabric?

There are many cute novelty prints and nautical prints that do make fun curtains. The only reason to choose a decorating fabric over a quilting fabric is that quilting cottons will fade quickly in direct sunlight. Lining the quilting fabric with a standard drapery lining will help protect it from fading.

What's a fat quarter?

All of our quilting fabrics are available for purchase as fat quarters as well as by-the-yard. A Traditional quarter yard of quilting weight fabric is 9"x45". A quilter's fat quarter is still one quarter of a yard of fabric: It is half the width and half the length of one yard of 45" fabric (22.5" x 18"). Most quilters find the shape of fat quarters to be more useful than a traditional quarter yard of fabric.
