Marimekko Fabrics Marimekko Fabrics
We at On Board Fabrics are happy to be the only fabric store around to stock a great selection of first quality Marimekko Fabrics. The original designs from the 1960s are pure optimism in full blown color.
What are there different types of Marimekko Fabrics?
We stock three different weights of Marimekko Fabrics.
- Cotton Sheeting is a medium weight printed cotton.
- Cotton Canvas is a heavy weight printed canvas.
- Vinyl Coated is a cotton sheeting print that has been laminated with PVC vinyl.
Is the Marimekko vinyl suitable for outdoor use?
We do not recommend using the marimekko fabrics for outdoor cushions. It is fun for tablecloths and totebags, but it should not be left outside or submersed in water. Exposure to elements may cause the lamination to peel away from the cotton base cloth.
How do I clean Marimekko Fabrics?
Cotton Sheetings and Cotton Canvas may be machine washed in warm water and lined dried. Iron with a warm iron. Dry Cleaning is optional.
PVC vinyl-coated fabrics must be machine washed in cool water, lined dried and ironed with a cool iron on the cotton side of the fabric.
