Snow "Sew" Day
Maine and Snow Storms
Four storms in ten days makes for a heck of heap of high snow banks. Glass half full kind of gal, have to spin the SNOW into a SEW day! Planned ahead and had the Bernina at the ready on the kitchen table. See all my sewing is done at On Board Fabrics, here at the Barn. I brought ALL my sewing machines to the store. All the pins, all the rotary cutters, and all of the thread. No sewing implements live at home, anymore, not one. You get the idea. I had to pack like I was going to a sewing class in my own home.
Even my new Kitty Cat, Lucky, was willing to help. Snow-Sew day deserved something new for me. Points! Triangles! I can do this! I am a sewer, not necessarily a quilter, but was up for the task.
Picked put some of my favorite bright fabrics that felt fresh and "Springy". Why chose doldrum fabrics in the deep darkest part of Winter, when you can choose, brights instead?
Found a pattern with some serious points and triangles. If you are going to try something new, well, why not go big or go home. I know, I know, most folks would start small, but that's just not me. I always jump in with both feet, whether over my head or not. At least with projects, anyway. Serious swimming, not so much.
Successful SNOW SEW day was had by me! Now awaiting the next one, need to complete the back and get off to be long armed... Is that a word? Long armed? Off to the woman that owns the long arm machine and have it quilted!
